What Google Discovered about Successful Teams

What is the most important characteristic of a successful team? Talent? Determination? Work ethic? Google conducted an exhaustive research project on this topic over the course of several years. In fact, the high tech giant even had a code name for their study called, “Project Aristotle.”

So what did Google’s top secret study find? They discovered that “psychological safety,” or trust was the single most important attribute a successful team could possess. According to the study, ‘In a team with high psychological safety, teammates feel safe to take risks around their fellow team members.” Ultimately, this risk taking leads to the sharing of ideas, improved communication and better decision making.
