Process Inventory

  • Compile a comprehensive list of all business and operational processes.
  • Review list of processes to ensure “as-is” process documentation is captured for all processes.

Process Workflows

  • Review process documentation to ensure currency and accuracy.
  • Document and/or update all “as-is” processes to accurately reflect current operational processes.
  • Identify questions in the “as-is” process where stakeholders ask, “why do we do that?” or “is that step necessary?”

Process Redesign

  • Every point where a question was asked is an opportunity for process redesign, efficiency improvements and cost savings.
  • Rethink and redesign the process to eliminate redundancies and reduce waste.
  • Test proposed “to-be” process, conduct data analysis to determine effectiveness of redesign, and adjust until desired result is achieved.

Process Implementation

  • Implement newly redesigned process with “to-be” process documentation and training.
  • Conduct ongoing data collection to verify cost savings. Monitor for any ongoing process adjustments that may be necessary as process improvement is a continuous effort.
