What Does Research Tell Us About Working Remotely?

We are more than a year into the COVID-19 Pandemic during which time more people than ever worked from home. Some employees say they have been happier and more productive working remotely while others can’t wait to get back to the office to improve their productivity, face to face interaction, and job satisfaction. But what does the research actually say about remote working? Here are the findings from some recent studies:

Among those employees who have been less productive and satisfied working from home, they list “a lack of social interaction and teamwork” as the primary reason for their struggles.A Gallup Study found that less experienced employees (0 to 5 years with their current company) were the most likely to want to return to the workplace.Gallup found that 54% of employees hope to continue working remotely after the pandemic is over.
